World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference is the first state-level intelligent connected vehicles conference approved by the State Council. Since 2018, with the joint efforts of the whole industry, the conference has been successfully held for six consecutive years and served as an important platform for the global automotive industry to lead technological innovation, promote international exchanges, and build consensus on outcomes. Currently, the conference has become an international event with the topmost level, highest standard, largest scale, and significant influence in the field of intelligent connected vehicles and played an important role in promoting the interaction among competent departments, making innovation and breakthroughs in key and core technologies, displaying scientific and technological achievements, and boosting international exchanges and cooperation.

Domestically speaking, over the past six years, leaders of the Party Central Committee and relevant state departments have attached great importance and showed cordial care to the conference; dozens of provincial and ministerial-level leaders have personally attended and addressed the conference; over 100 academicians and specialists have participated in the conference and delivered wonderful reports; and more than 10,000 representatives from domestic automakers and parts manufacturers have been present at the conference and made speeches, making the conference a well-known and influential event in the industry. Internationally speaking, dozens of foreign organizations and institutions, including ITU, UNECE, UN Secretary Vehicle Active Safety, SAE, SIP/PRISM, NTSEL, the US Embassy in China, the Australian Embassy in China, the Australian Consulate-General in Shanghai, and the Hungarian Embassy in China, have appointed representatives to make speeches at the conference; more than 100 overseas experts and scholars, including Nobel Prize winners, Einstein Prize winners, Turing Award winners, fellows of the European Academy of Sciences, members of the French Academy of Engineering, members of NAE of US, fellows of SAE International, experts of ACEA, VDA, JAMA, University of California, and CAR, have made superb reports at the conference; and representatives from more than 100 internationally-renowned automakers in the industrial chain, such as Mercedes-Benz, VW, BMW, GM, Ford, JLR, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Hyundai, Volvo Trucks, Daimler Commercial Vehicles, Ferrari, Renault, Stellantis, Tesla, Bosch, Continental AG, Aptiv, and NVIDIA, have attended the meeting and exchanged opinions.

According to the authoritative statistics by the organizing committee, the previous six conferences have invited a total of more than 1,200 person-times of speakers and guests and over 50,000 person-times of professional live audiences; accumulatively attracted more than 1000 exhibitors from the industrial chain with an exhibition area of about 250,000 square meters, nearly 450,000 person-times of offline audiences, more than 30 million person-times of online audiences, and over 500 million person-times of communication audience. The previous six conferences have been covered and publicized by the central mainstream media such as Xinhua News Agency, People’s Daily, China Central Television, China National Radio, and overseas authoritative media such as Reuters, Bloomberg, PR Newswire, Japan’s Asahi Shimbun and Nippon Television, in a full-cycle, all-round and multi-angle manner. This year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as the head organizer of 2024 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference (hereinafter referred to as the “WICV 2024”), will take the lead in the preparatory work. According to the new developments of the industry, WICV 2024 will further highlight the high-end, professional, refined and international features, focus on the hot spots of the industrial chain and the advantages of local industry, and display the high-grade‎, precision and advanced technologies and products in auto sector by taking enterprises as the main body, so as to build a “world-class” international event for exchanges and cooperation.
